SEASIDE SHOOT-OUT The forces of law and order took another step forward on the road to victory this Sunday when a combined Police, Army and LDV force raided the
Inspector Foyle of the Yard confirmed that several arrests were made and a large amount of contraband was seized.
“This area,” he said in a statement to the press “has been well known for many years for illicit activities, including handling stolen goods but in particular with regard to smuggling. In these troubled times this type of activity has been steadily increasing and this raid was designed to put an end to it.”
It is thought that several smugglers were killed in the operation but there were no casualties for the Police, Army or LDV forces.
As well as seizing a considerable amount of contraband and three boats, one of the LDV forces also managed to rescue the two penguins that had been stolen from Bristol Zoo earlier this month. Both birds are said to be in excellent condition considering their ordeal, and both would be back in the penguin enclosure as soon as a vet had given the all clear.
An army captain who was involved in leading the military side refused to confirm or deny the rumour that a Communist sniper was also killed during the raid. However Lady Bagshaw (who gallantly lead one of the LDV forces) was quoted as saying that Davinia (the school rifle shooting champion) recognized the man as he took up in position in a nearby wood.
“Davinia immediately recognized the individual as a well known Communist sniper. Since he was carrying a rifle and was clearly intending to open fire on our forces she asked for and was given permission to fire. “ said Lady Bagshaw, “It is a credit to her training and skill that one shot was all she needed.”
Inspector Foyle also refused to comment on the alleged battle between Communist forces and smugglers further up the coast. Local residents reported rifle fire, several explosions and what appeared to be a large plume of smoke.
